# Tournaments

### What is Tournament?

A simple competition among users to distribute prizes. Users play an easy game with a short duration to win prizes. It's important to specify that It's NOT A DRAW, it only depends on the user performance to get qualified for a piece of the total prize pool.

To explore and register for tournaments, users can navigate to upcoming competitions in the main page, accessing one of the following options:

* Through the main menu: Tournaments -> Explore
* Accessing the featured section dedicated to Tournaments

<figure><img src="/files/p3APsWaq4LTyLrus1kCM" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* Accessing the highlighted tournament slides ![](/files/f738vGp5T29nLht9wvq1)

# Tournaments Explorer

When navigating to Tournaments Explorer, the following page is displayed:

<figure><img src="/files/oYMkNgV8OZn4XOtfK1xR" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Initially, this page shows all the upcoming tournaments, however, in order to get a fine-grained results, it's possible to filter the tournaments with different options:

<figure><img src="/files/OUn2cjtb487xV25obiCq" alt=""><figcaption><p>With several filter combinations, a powerful search can be achieved</p></figcaption></figure>

An important point to mention about filters: When the search result is empty, it is always convenient to reset it for the initial state (all upcoming tournaments) ![](/files/Kog9vuIPkzdt0VmGpzhR).

To delve into tournament details, hit the ![](/files/Pj7bfhigJ36P0iswwxQk) button.

# Tournament Details

# Tournament Types

According to Entry Type, Entry Requirements and Status, the tournament types are subdivided as follows:

### Entry Type

1 - Freeroll ![](/files/sYizfCPyBWcxZs6bGUrd)->

The tournaments flagged as Freeroll are totally free for registration (price is 0). The following information is displayed for Entry price ![](/files/hDbx0sF7F3Wlkzq79EBT)

2 - Paid / Ticket ![](/files/tqqNNiRdHqRf6b5UYK3m)->

The registration for tournaments flagged with Paid / Ticket can be performed in two ways: Paying the registration price or using a tournament ticket (A detailed information about tickets will be explained in the section [Frequent Player Points](/explore-papparico/frequent-player-points)).

The following information is displayed for Entry price ![](/files/3tLSV2nO6e9FGWZOYKOc)

If the user has enough FPP, the tournament will offer the option to register either using FPP or the normal entry token. See the example when the user clicks REGISTER:

<figure><img src="/files/hkQIkANk8Y2TYuOMaTGC" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

As we mentioned before, we will explain what FPP is in the section [Frequent Player Points](/explore-papparico/frequent-player-points)

3 - Paid ![](/files/bD7mA2Li68JputNyWbky)->

The registration for tournaments flagged with Paid entry price can only be performed by paying a registration price. The following information is displayed ![](/files/eyiumcXR9RmfGcr9xEqy)

### Entry Requirements

1 - No Requirements ![](/files/ZOVGxJJuyo6ueVGqegTK) -> As the name suggests, No requirements means there is no restriction for registration (any user can register for the tournament)

2 - Vault 48 Months ![](/files/MeduI06jgVHBNWloZg7W)-> Users must have any value deposited in our 48 Months Vault to be able to register for this kind of tournament. This is quite fair with the users who fully support us in growing our ecosystem.

### Status

1 - Scheduled ![](/files/Qv6lfSsU3mztobTGiyvn)-> This state means that the tournament is idle and waiting for the next status (Registering)

2 - Registering ![](/files/gVUteUs4LDjgLLLb2iM2)-> The description is self-explained, "Registering" means that the tournament is open for registrations. There are some tournaments where the field "Max Registrations" is set, meaning there is a maximum number of allowed registrations. Unless the Max Registrations value is reached, users can normally register with this status. We'll cover more details later.

3 - Live ![](/files/JLt67AkT8tzLYGODGmjn)-> The tournament is happening right now. In this status, users must start playing in order to score and get qualified for prizes.

This is how the Live tournament looks like:

<figure><img src="/files/hm3iIW1gzpvOh8OLCPEV" alt=""><figcaption><p>To start playing, just hit the PLAY NOW button</p></figcaption></figure>

4 - Finished ![](/files/zTOOitMHra5k65Be6pMf)-> The tournament has finished. At this point, the competition stops and users aren't able to play and score anymore.

The application will consolidate the results (usually takes seconds) and prepare the prizes for payment to the qualified users.

# Tournament Details (Part 2)

In this section, we're going to detail more information about tournaments.

<figure><img src="/files/tfx9rtgfa9J24hAU8PTq" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

* **Game**: The game will be used for the current tournament
* **Registered users**: Number of current registered users
* **Min registrations**: Number of minimum registrations to start the tournament. Few things to clarify about "Min registrations" field:

1. When this field is not set (it displays N/A), it means there is no minimum number of registered users to start the tournament. The tournament will start normally at the scheduled time, regardless of the number of registrations, except if the number of current registrations is 0 (It's not possible to start a tournament with zero registrations).
2. When this field is set, the tournament will start at the scheduled time only if the number of registered users is greater than or equal to this field.

* **Max registrations**: Number of maximum registrations to start the tournament. Details about this field:

1. When this field is set and the number of current registered users reaches this value, it means the application will not accept more registrations and the tournament will start at the scheduled time.
2. When this field is not set (it displays N/A), there is no maximum number of registrations.

* **Registration starts**: The time users are able to register for the tournament.
* **Tournament starts**: Time the tournament starts. There are 2 rules for this field:

1. The field is set with the scheduled time, meaning the tournament will start at the schedule time, unless another requirement is not met (e.g. Min registrations).
2. The field is set with the information "**Once it reaches XX registrations**", where XX is a number of registered users: It means the tournament will start as soon as the number of registered users reaches XX. In order not to miss the beginning of the tournament, users must pay attention to such cases.

* **Tournament duration**: Duration of tournament. See next item: Round duration.
* **Round duration**: Users can play as many rounds as they want within the Tournament duration. The score of each round is accumulated and the final score will be the sum of all rounds.

# Registrations list

<figure><img src="/files/Vl3iDAYshL9KbyGS5zwf" alt=""><figcaption><p>Registrations list</p></figcaption></figure>

This list displays the first 10 registered users. To see the full list, hit the ![](/files/dARnEpledwHklLe6yH9R) button.

# Prize distribution

<div align="left"><figure><img src="/files/Zp0gh4YV4aDpbNIgSlPA" alt=""><figcaption><p>Prize distribution</p></figcaption></figure> <figure><img src="/files/F1Zn702GF9d5pRCsuADm" alt=""><figcaption><p>Prize distribution (Continuation)</p></figcaption></figure></div>

We won't delve into the distribution calculations (it's not the scope of this document), but we'll summarize how it works:

Basically we divide the total prize pool in 3 groups. Assuming the total prize pool is P, we organize the group as follows:

* Group 1 = 50% of P
* Group 2 = 30% of P
* Group 3 = 20% of P

These percentages are not static and we may change them depending on the tournament.

After the groups division, we apply a Geometric Progression in order to generate the places paid. Each group has a different progression ratio (e.g. Group 1 ratio = 1.3, Group 2 ratio = 1.1, Group 3 ratio = 1.05). We believe this way we make a fair distribution.

# Scoreboard

<figure><img src="/files/61Fqa2YUcPA3Pb4cp05n" alt=""><figcaption><p>Descending list of users and their scores</p></figcaption></figure>

When the tournament is live, this list is updated automatically according to the user performances (the list displays the top 10, to see the full list hit ![](/files/dARnEpledwHklLe6yH9R)).&#x20;

In order to achieve a tiebreak (determine the qualification of two or more users with the same score), we consider the registration time for qualification purposes. In other words, the user who registered first, will be ahead in the qualification.

In the example above, there are some negative scores. Yes, it's possible to have such bad performance. We'll detail such cases in the [Games](/explore-papparico/games)section.

# Request / Claim Prize

To request a prize, go to PRIZE / SCOREBOARD tab and hit the ![](/files/Y1z2hdltjXHXtFgsoHHP), the following page will open:

<figure><img src="/files/C0bc2IQl4iM8Jsgyq8Rj" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Just click on "REQUEST". The confirmation of prize request is displayed:

<figure><img src="/files/VdM1PlMCGwWPixtMyis4" alt=""><figcaption><p>Prize request confirmation</p></figcaption></figure>

Depending on the number of qualified users, the payment time and queue position might be higher. Usually the interval between each payment is around 10 seconds. After the elapsed time (sometimes there is a small delay, depending on the blockchain traffic), your prize is ready to be claimed.

To claim the prize, click on ![](/files/DJTMqzWlTvNRHNgluxiV) and confirm in your wallet.

# Frequent Player Points

## What is FPP? ![](/files/MKjXPmUjswTdsdGusxXY)

A program of points accumulation based on the user participation in tournaments and vaults. These points can be used for some benefits in our application.&#x20;

## Points Accumulation

There are two ways to accumulate points: by playing our tournaments (most common way) and making the first deposit in one of our vaults.

## How to use the points

Currently, the users can use FPP with the following benefits:

* **Early Vault Withdrawal**: Users can use FPP to withdraw a % of their deposits with NO PENALTY. Yes, no penalty! This is exactly what makes us a different protocol. The percentage may vary, from 1% to 15% (or even more) depending on how many accumulated points the users have. More details will be covered in the [Vaults](/explore-papparico/vaults) section.

* **Tournament Tickets**: The tournaments flagged with the PAID / TICKET entry type are fully compatible with FPP. Users can spend their FPP to register for these tournaments. For instance, a tournament which displays the entry price like ![](/files/3tLSV2nO6e9FGWZOYKOc) accepts either Papparico Token or FPP as registration. An important point about FPP: This is not an additional token in our ecosystem, hence is not tradeable. It's a virtual number held for each user in our Smart Contract.

* **Bullish Pools (Coming soon)**: Although we're still implementing this feature, we're going to introduce it briefly: Bullish pools will work as a cashback. There will be some pools of different tokens exclusively for FPP and users will be able to use their FPP's to exchange for any token in the pool.

## Points Calculation

**Vaults ->**

New users earn up to 5 points by making a first deposit in our vaults according to the table:

| Vault     | Points   |
| --------- | -------- |
| 1 Month   | 1 Point  |
| 6 Months  | 2 Points |
| 12 Months | 3 Points |
| 24 Months | 4 Points |
| 48 Months | 5 Points |

One important rule to clarify: Only the very first deposit counts and any subsequent deposit don't accumulate additional points.&#x20;

**Tournaments ->**

Each tournament has specific FPP rewards, see the prize pool below as an example (30 FPP):

<figure><img src="/files/yttjIFz6cIGANqt2aSTe" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## FPP Page

To access the FPP page, check balance and collect points, navigate to main menu, Tournaments -> Frequent Player Points, or simply hit the icon ![](/files/Sj2J9FqY6lz581X7pA6x) located in the main menu bar. When the icon is displayed with an exclamation yellow sign, it means that the user has points pending to collect.

<figure><img src="/files/21M6nP2m3Tz25lpSUV9u" alt=""><figcaption><p>Frequent Player Points page (When the user does not have points to collect)</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/W0wsDi3cC9UI79mU8RQr" alt=""><figcaption><p>Frequent Player Points page (When the user has points to collect)</p></figcaption></figure>

It's worth mentioning some aspects:

* When a tournament finishes and the user has a prize to claim (qualified for a prize), the action of "Claim Prize" also collects the pending points
* When a tournament finishes and the user does not have prize to claim (not qualified for a prize), the points need to be collected manually in the FPP page

# Games

As we described in previous sections, tournaments are competitions where users play games to win prizes. For our first release, we have only one game where the tournaments take place: <mark style="color:blue;">**Crypto Razor**</mark>.&#x20;

We're planning to add more games in near future. Check our [Roadmap](/tokenomics-and-roadmap/roadmap) for more details.

### How to play Crypto Razor?

The game is very simple and easy to play, for sure most of the users already played a similar game at least once. The game has the same feature of the classic Fruit Ninja, but with Crypto Tokens instead.

It's possible to teach how to play in only one paragraph:

<mark style="color:blue;">**"The player must slice the crypto tokens thrown in the air by holding the mouse button clicked and swiping cursor towards objects or, in case of touch screen, with their finger. Be careful: Do not slice the bombs."**</mark>

The game is available for practice and users can play it anytime. Main menu -> Games

<mark style="color:orange;">**IMPORTANT:**</mark> In order to have better performance in the game, we strongly recommend to play it in a desktop computer. The cursor control is better when you use a conventional mouse device.

<mark style="color:green;">**The game is compatible with all modern browsers, but we tested it exhaustively in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox. We guarantee that works smoothly in these browsers.**</mark>

There are two possible ways to play our games: Practice Mode and Tournament Mode

# Practice Mode

To access Crypto Razor in Practice Mode, go to Main Menu -> Games, the following page is displayed:

<figure><img src="/files/86mG1PPuEr2SdkKEDIrb" alt=""><figcaption><p>Games page</p></figcaption></figure>

Just click on the game logo to start the game.

<figure><img src="/files/W7dgmmd5vtMkuPS5zra4" alt=""><figcaption><p>splash screen</p></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/djG9pTLpL95j3bS5FUJZ" alt=""><figcaption><p>Pre-game screen</p></figcaption></figure>

And then, the game is ready to play:

<figure><img src="/files/FUH0UGiLGOVGCjLWYpya" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Tournament Mode

For tournament mode, the user must be registered and the tournament should be flagged with LIVE status.

When the tournament status changes to LIVE, the play button is activated on the tournament page. See the following image below:

<figure><img src="/files/hm3iIW1gzpvOh8OLCPEV" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Just hit the PLAY NOW button to start the game.

In Tournament Mode, there are some pre-check requirements before the game starts, one of them requires the user action: to sign the tournament. The user signs a plain text message, which means it's only to make sure the connected wallet belongs to the signer and nothing will be spent nor transferred.

<figure><img src="/files/BuKToRmW03pq1aJ0th8s" alt=""><figcaption><p>Pre-check requirements before the tournament</p></figcaption></figure>

Pre-check requirements:

<figure><img src="/files/KBSaGPUr7HziIqdntqnF" alt=""><figcaption><p>Pre-check requirements</p></figcaption></figure>

Usually, only the Tournament signature requires a user action, the rest are checked automatically.

This is how the signature request looks like:

<figure><img src="/files/UIky6eIUjuZw7eePk3KJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

For MetaMask users, it looks like this:

<figure><img src="/files/AYq7fBPt7UEVdKiujuD8" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After signing the tournament, the user will see all the requirements done:

<figure><img src="/files/GeOxHXleLjAlcU7pD09p" alt=""><figcaption><p>Requirements complete</p></figcaption></figure>

From now, just wait for the tournament start time and the game will open automatically at the scheduled time.

If the user rejects the signature unintentionally, the pre-check marks the requirement as an error:

<figure><img src="/files/0h4d8Z4tqpMyn0qiynE0" alt=""><figcaption><p>User rejected the signature</p></figcaption></figure>

Just hit the button FIX and the signature request will popup again.

# The Game

This is how the game screen looks like:

<figure><img src="/files/dEBMPac56Gmyw20PNhsy" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

In the image above, we have the following fields:

* **Score**: Current user score
* **Time left**: Remaining time to finish the tournament (The white number in the middle of the top panel 1107)
* **User**: User address
* **Accumulated Score**: The total score of the user at the moment. We'll explain more details in the section [Score and General Rules](/explore-papparico/games/score-and-general-rules).

When the tournament finishes, the consolidation page is shown:

<figure><img src="/files/fSnrO7hM5XtWydQ42ZEj" alt=""><figcaption><p>The game is consolidating the results</p></figcaption></figure>

After the consolidation page, the user final result is displayed:

<figure><img src="/files/Kt0PdU7QaD5eGW08Zmhh" alt=""><figcaption><p>Final result of a user who won the tournament</p></figcaption></figure>

An for a user not qualified for a prize:

# Score and General Rules

In this section, we are going to describe the score values by slicing the objects in the game, as well the general rules about score, accumulated score, penalties, etc.

### Crypto Token Objects

As we already explained, the purpose of the game is to slice the objects in the air to score. The score is calculated as follows:

![](/files/aW0gZGtNWVvvzHE1HrXw) BTC   = 20 points

![](/files/zF9DtSQLUGXNeoM3TNcp) ETH   = 30 points

![](/files/JPHKzFGhFC84WI4zSjNl) USDT = 40 points

![](/files/ENA3xlTtRAF4cAcpNA4t) CRO   = 50 points

![](/files/rRJVwKi2ZHI2QOKeQJNC) PPFT  = 60 points

By slicing the crypto objects, these values are added to the score.

### Combo

When hitting two or more objects at the same time, a bonus is added to the score:

* 2X Combo = 20 points
* 3x Combo = 60 points
* 4x Combo = 120 points
* 5X Combo = 200 points
* 6X Combo = 300 points

### Bomb (Don't hit them) :fearful:

Try not to hit the bombs, they're harmful to your score. By hitting a bomb, your score is subtracted from 10%.

![](/files/ZLR2szoRJy4H1i7AjaWp) Score - 10%

### Missed Objects (Don't let them fall)

If the user misses the objects thrown in the air (they fall and vanish from the screen), the score is deducted according to the object value:

![](/files/aW0gZGtNWVvvzHE1HrXw) BTC   = 20 points deducted

![](/files/zF9DtSQLUGXNeoM3TNcp) ETH   = 30 points deducted

![](/files/JPHKzFGhFC84WI4zSjNl) USDT = 40 points deducted

![](/files/ENA3xlTtRAF4cAcpNA4t) CRO   = 50 points deducted

![](/files/rRJVwKi2ZHI2QOKeQJNC) PPFT  = 60 points deducted

### Penalties (Avoid them)

Once the game starts, play till the end and do not close nor disable the window / tab of the browser. This is the first rule to avoid penalties.&#x20;

If the user closes or disables the window / tab of the browser, the game will apply penalties and deduct all the missed objects from the accumulated score at a given moment. These penalties are calculated and applied at the end of the tournament.

The game has milestones and the user needs to pass through each of them.

### Milestones

We already introduced them, now let's see the details. To understand how they work, an example is useful:

Given a tournament which has a duration of 1 minute. For this tournament there are 3 milestones (each of them takes place every 20 seconds). Let's simulate the user actions in a timeline:

Between 1 and 20 seconds:

<mark style="color:blue;">-> User hits the</mark> ![](/files/zF9DtSQLUGXNeoM3TNcp) <mark style="color:blue;">30 pts and then hits the</mark> ![](/files/rRJVwKi2ZHI2QOKeQJNC) <mark style="color:blue;">60 pts (score = 90 pts)</mark>

<mark style="color:blue;">-> User hits the</mark> ![](/files/ZLR2szoRJy4H1i7AjaWp) <mark style="color:blue;">30% deducted (90 pts - 30%, score = 63 pts)</mark>

<mark style="color:blue;">-> User hits the</mark> ![](/files/aW0gZGtNWVvvzHE1HrXw) <mark style="color:blue;">20 pts (63 pts + 20 pts = 83 pts)</mark>

At the second 20, the game will add the current Score to the Accumulated Score. So now we have Score = 83 pts and Accumulated Score = 83 pts

Between 20 and 40 seconds:

<mark style="color:blue;">-> User misses the</mark> ![](/files/ENA3xlTtRAF4cAcpNA4t) <mark style="color:blue;">50 pts (83 pts - 50 pts = 33 pts)</mark>

<mark style="color:blue;">-> User hits a 2X Combo</mark> ![](/files/rRJVwKi2ZHI2QOKeQJNC) <mark style="color:blue;">60 pts +</mark> ![](/files/JPHKzFGhFC84WI4zSjNl) <mark style="color:blue;">40 pts + 20 pts (33 pts + 60 pts + 40 pts + 20 pts = 153 pts)</mark>

<mark style="color:blue;">-> User hits a 4X Combo</mark> ![](/files/rRJVwKi2ZHI2QOKeQJNC) <mark style="color:blue;">60 pts +</mark> ![](/files/JPHKzFGhFC84WI4zSjNl) <mark style="color:blue;">40 pts +</mark> ![](/files/aW0gZGtNWVvvzHE1HrXw) <mark style="color:blue;">20 pts +</mark> ![](/files/zF9DtSQLUGXNeoM3TNcp) <mark style="color:blue;">30 pts + 120 pts (153 pts + 270 pts = 423 pts)</mark>

At the second 40, the game will add the current Score to the Accumulated Score. So now we have Score = 423 pts and Accumulated Score = 83 pts + 423 pts = 506 pts

Between 40 and 60 seconds:

<mark style="color:blue;">-> User hits the</mark> ![](/files/rRJVwKi2ZHI2QOKeQJNC) <mark style="color:blue;">60 pts (score = 423 pts + 60 pts = 483 pts)</mark>

<mark style="color:blue;">-> At the second 45, the user closes the game and does not go to the last milestone (the previous</mark> ![](/files/rRJVwKi2ZHI2QOKeQJNC) <mark style="color:blue;">hit will be lost, because the game didn't record it)</mark>

At the end of the tournament, the game will consolidate the score of each user and, in this specific scenario, will deduct everything what the user missed between 45 and 60 seconds. Let's assume the user missed 250 pts during this period, the final user Accumulated Score will be:

506 pts - 250 pts of penalties = 256 pts

Based on this example, now it's clear how important not to miss any milestone.

### Anti Scammer Protection

We all know that, in this crypto world, there are so many bad actors trying to scam something all the time. Being aware of that, we provided protections against them.

Imagine a user playing the tournament and tries to open another window in order to get double of score. The game detects such operations, closes the first window and, internally, marks the user as suspicious. If another attempt to do the same operation takes place, the user will be banned and will not be able to play tournaments anymore.

We also have many other technical security mechanisms, but it's out of scope of this document.

# Bullish Pools

## What is Bullish Pools?

We provide some pools where is possible to use FPP (Frequent Player Points) to cashback any token in the pool.

<figure><img src="/files/9A64Htd91MBIkku4lPES" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="/files/3xKpSuduWk2Zusw7JwAL" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Just click on the (+) button to expand and manage your deposit. Depending on the Vault status, different options may appear. For instance, we've hit the 48 Months:

<figure><img src="/files/4GNbMdVazd4tBppeW5PL" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

To deposit more, just click the "DEPOSIT MORE" button. When the user has enough FPP (Frequent Player Points), it's possible to withdraw earlier without any penalty (as we mentioned before). To proceed with earlier withdrawal, just click the "EARLY WITHDRAW" button and the following page will be shown:

<figure><img src="/files/bDdKXLkFYW0u4gNVuvpr" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Now, let's suppose we have an unlocked deposit, like the image below:

<figure><img src="/files/Tz2RAGHmI2DPma5w0o45" alt=""><figcaption><p>Unlocked vault example</p></figcaption></figure>

The unlocked vault displays an option to withdraw, see the example below:

<figure><img src="/files/hI1heUsKYoB2vOrBe2U2" alt=""><figcaption><p>Unlocked vault</p></figcaption></figure>

To withdraw, just click the "WITHDRAW" button and confirm.

### Upgrade vault

Vaults with the locking period less than 48 months have the "UPGRADE" option. It means the user can increase the locking period of the deposit. Let's see the example below:
